There’s much discourse the opposition parties are putting forward regarding the EVM machine manipulation, amidst others in the General Elections 2019 of the biggest democracy in the world, INDIA. But see, there is nothing else left with them to discuss than what they are already saying. Accusing the Election Commission, for their electoral debacle, when the opposition parties have themselves failed to impress the voters by not raising the correct issues or say due to lack of preparation.
Here’s an interesting tweet by Chetan Bhagat on similar lines.
If the results are in Modi’s favor on 23rd (as all exit polls are saying), just one request to the opposition. Please, please spend the next 5 years improving yourselves rather than hating Modi.

The exit polls have come aligned with the election results finally & the winner is the poll done by the ‘India Today Axis My India‘. FYI about 500+ people prepared for the exit poll for over 40 days, as the elections crossed different cities in that time frame. And today, the man who had led the poll cried tears of joy on National television seeing the poll results coming about 95% true.
There were some interesting trends that were witnessed during the election campaigning. And they start with the behaviour of the TELEVISED NEWS Channels. The leading Anchors of such channels moved from city to city, party to party to give them the election mileage through their medium. Now again, some political parties are criticizing the news channels for giving PRIME-TIME and more visibility to the Narendra Modi led BJP. Some news insiders call this INSIDER-POLITICS, to give more visual advantage to parties in return of paid advertisements. So the more a given party is paying a news channel for advertising, the better chance it stands in enhancing its image.
<Personal Opinion> For instance, AAJ TAK gave the best possible timing to BJP, as the leading anchors followed the PM Modi for his Varanasi campaigning. They interviewed him, brought him to spotlight at a very crucial stage; just as the elections were about to begin in a few days. That was how the wave was given its push. The same media channel interviewed Samajwadi Party supremo Akhilesh Yadav in a special ‘news bus’ many days later when the elections had already begun in other states.
The strategies and planning of the news channels were seen to flow in favour of the current government. Another news channel – India TV gave a special spotlight to the Prime Minister by inviting him at Prime-Time amid a big crowd to boast about his achievements openly. The journalist cum anchor himself called Modi – the most hardworking Indian Prime Minister EVER. That was hint enough of his support for Modi led BJP. Wouldn’t you agree on this? Moreover, I thought News was about being neutral, does that show neutrality? It appeared more like an entertainment Talk Show where the audience was supposed to clap after every expression the PM gave.
A question to be raised here is, SHOULD MEDIA BE REGULATED on how much they promote a given political party? But another thought is, how could one measure the activities of one channel in promoting a given leadership. (only if time duration for every party was moderated, but that sounds impossible)
At this point comes the role of general awareness and understanding of the public.
The public here needs to be intelligent enough to study the intentions of a given party before casting their precious VOTE. But then one could point out, that in a Nation where people with a grey background are handed tickets to fight elections, and IF the same individuals WIN seats by a majority, then what can one really HOPE? The country wants those shady individuals to lead them, or does it care only for the party in the picture. That must be given a thought.
NOW comes the Creative Aspect of this Voting Season, and what went RIGHT for the Narendra Modi Government
A very interesting facet of digital marketing is called Remarketing, where the interested/prospective customer is shown one advertisement multiple times once an individual CLICKS on it. And that is how valuation increases and brand identity develops. BJP just got this right on not just digital platforms but all aspects of reaching out to the public. Be it through political rallies, television/radio promotions, celebrity talk shows to finally launching the much talked about NAMO TV.
The celebrity game is strong when it comes to BJP’s promotional strategy! And who can not imagine that happening when the Ringmaster is the Sher – Mr. Modi himself. To fight the ruling state government of AAP and the prior ruler Congress; the Bhartiya Janta Party brought in, eminent faces from different fields. Be it by introducing Gautam Gambhir, Hans Raj Hans or the pro-Manoj Tiwari, they knew how to play the card of politics right. No one saw the work AAP did in Education/Health sector in Delhi, they only voted for Modi; also because these were general elections, not state elections.
The celebrity focus was given a kick by roping in mega-star Akshay Kumar to interview Mr. Modi in the so-called Non-Political interview, where Akki made news by asking PM questions like, “Do you like mangoes? / Do you get angry?” & in return getting his noted films promoted through the conversation.

Personally, I have connected more to BJP’s online campaigns. But Congress wasn’t far behind, although they lagged behind in actual spending on advertisements if one compares to BJP. The slogan spread by BJP broadcasted on Indian Radio “…phir ik baar modi sarkar chahiye,” created greater buzz than“ab hoga NYAY” campaign led by the Congress. Needless to emphasize, the social media teams of both sides countered each other’s attempts to shine out. The “Chowkidar Chor Hai” campaign by Congress was countered with “Main Bhi Chowkidar” campaign by BJP, where all its top leaders showed UNITY on social media, especially on Twitter by adding to their names the prefix ‘Chowkidar’ . In exchange of the same, Congress asked people to do a double check of the history of the Chowkidar’s -– by releasing a cover image of an oldie magazine. (Picture attached)
“One place, where Congress lacked big time is the lack of unity and leadership. They could not find a leader who could match the stature of PM Narendra Modi. Rahul Gandhi tried to connect to people, but he’s far behind Mr. Modi who has ruled the Gujarat state alone for multiple terms. Maybe, that’s the lesson Chetan Bhagat was talking about, which Congress needs to take seriously, to cope-up from their serious fall. Speaking of Chowkidar’s heroics, there’s another reason for his victory, i.e., lack of qualitative leadership in the opposition.”
- ‘One Name, One Face’ Says it All
“Ugte hue sooraj ko sabh salaam karte hai??”
At the moment, the Nation is “Wowing” the one-sided VICTORY of the man whose Face led the NDA to the HISTORY BOOKS, where BJP held the majority on its own capability. But is this new to Mr. Modi? I believe, throughout his government’s rule at the Centre, he remained the apple of everyone’s eye! And that isn’t just about namesake alone, but for the work done by him. He came into power to recognize the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan as a MAJOR concern and that was taken positively by people across the country. His government passed the order of creating toilets throughout the country, and that’s one of his biggest achievements. Modi reached the poor in his own way of promoting a healthy and hygienic environment. PM Modi’s work was celebrated and related through films like “Toilet Ek Prem Katha”, and talk about URI – the Nation respects Modi for taking bold decisions which earlier government’s supposedly hesitated taking. But then Mr. Anchor in Chief knows how to market his work, unlike the previous governments. If during Modi’s government the Army did 2 surgical strikes against terrorists, the Congress says it did 5-6 strikes and the Army gives a thumbs up, that it happened. But who knew about it? No one. That’s exactly where Congress fades and FAILS. They couldn’t make a strong statement and show their work to the public that Modi definitely can.
Some more achievements of the government can be noted:
- Subsidy on Gas Cylinders to Poor
- Bank Accounts Opened for People in Villages
- Digital India / Startup India, etc. initiatives
- Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana
- Stronger Foreign Ties
Where it Failed to make an IMPACT
- Demonetization <Move that couldn’t bring back black money and Rs. 15 lakhs promised openly to all Indians – (and we believed that somehow them, obviously it was a political joke.) >
- GST (Affected the small businesses)
- Condition of Farmers / Unemployment Rate
Where Nearly All Political Parties Failed
The parties blatantly spoke against one another. Where Congress party referred to Prime Minister Modi a Chor (Thief), the PM in reply called Rajiv Gandhi, former Indian PM, “Bhrashtachari No. 1”. Personal attacks like these brought down the strength of politics by a great measure.
Here’s a picture found on the Internet, that should serve as a reminder for all leaders to respect one another irrespective of the differences prevailing amongst them. (Picture attached)
A lot has been said already! So here’s not pushing you to more. Sharing some interesting graphics with due credits given to all the designers. Here’s to #ModiSarkar once again. Hoping there are good times ahead of us. #PhirEkBaarModiSarkar
